What to put in a hotel compendium: the checklist
Updated 22 October 2026
A hotel compendium (a guest directory, or welcome book) is everything a guest would otherwise ask at the front desk: times, services, house rules, local tips. Printed, it goes out of date and gets lost; as a digital guest directory on the guest's phone, it updates in a minute and speaks their language. Here's what to put in it, as a checklist you can copy.

Telaio: your hotel compendium, ready in your own app
Your own app, with your hotel’s name, logo and colours, on your guests’ phones. They install it by scanning the QR code in the room or at the front desk: ten seconds, no App Store, no account.
- Rooms, services, opening hours and a digital guest directory, updated from your phone in thirty seconds
- A digital concierge in eight languages: guests read it in their own
- Five stay messages that go out by themselves, from the day before arrival to months after check-out
- A review request on Google or Tripadvisor, the day after check-out
- Offers, a loyalty card and notifications, and it works with no signal in the room
€69 a month · no setup fee · no commission · cancel any time

The checklist
- Arrival and departure: check-in and check-out times, luggage storage, late check-out.
- The room: Wi-Fi and password, air conditioning, the safe, what's in the minibar.
- Meals: breakfast and restaurant hours, where they're served, what's included.
- Services: pool, beach, spa, gym, parking, with hours and prices.
- Getting around: shuttle, taxis, buses, how to get into town.
- Useful numbers: front desk, emergencies, the nearest pharmacy and doctor.
- House rules: pets, smoking, recycling.
- The area: the places you recommend, restaurants, day trips.
With Telaio: every item on the list has its place in the app: rooms, services, hours, contacts, the places you recommend.
A digital compendium: the things that change every day
The strength of a digital hotel compendium isn't the fixed information: it's what changes. The pool closed for cleaning, the shuttle moved, a barbecue on the terrace tonight, fresh snow and the lifts are open. On paper you can't update it; in the app you can, from your phone, even from the front desk, in thirty seconds.
With Telaio: each area can be updated by whoever runs it, with its own code: the front desk, the restaurant, the beach.
In the guest's own language
With Telaio the app switches itself to the language of the guest's phone, among eight; your texts show in the languages you write them in. Where a translation is missing, guests read the English.
No download, and no signal needed
Guests install it by scanning the QR code in the room or at the front desk: no App Store, no account. Once installed it opens even without a connection, because the information stays on the phone.
And after the stay
The same digital guest directory keeps working: the day after check-out it can ask for a review on Google or Tripadvisor, and months later remind the guest you'd love to see them again, with a message that goes out by itself.
With Telaio: the five stay messages go out by themselves, and the review request offers nothing in return, as the rules require.
Who already uses it
In Bibione, Hotel Cesare Augusto, Hotel Lido Bibione Beach and Hotel Principe; in the Dolomites, Hotel Fontana and Cèsa Planber. Each has its hotel compendium inside its own app, with its own name.
